Boudhanath is a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Kathmandu, Nepal. When viewed from the Ariel, Boudhanath makes an impressive, massive mandala. It is believed that the Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world and enshrines the remains of Kasyapa Buddha. This historical site was listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.

Drak Yerpa, an ancient Buddhist pilgrimage site consists of the monastery and a number of ancient meditation caves. The other popular names for Drak Yerpa are Brag Yerpa, Druk Yerpa, Dagyeba, Dayerpa, and Trayerpa. This famous pilgrimage site is located on a hillside in Dagze County, Tibet. The Yerpa Valley is about 16 Km northeast of Lhasa on the northern bank of the Kyichu. The ancient meditation caves are further 10 Km far away in the limestone cliffs of the Yerpa Valley.

Swayambhunath is one of the scared ancient Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal situated at the hill in the west direction of Kathmandu city. This pilgrimage site for Newar Buddhists occupies a central position while for Tibetan Buddhists, it places in the second position after Boudha. According to the stone inscription found at the site, the Swayambhunath stupa was built by King Manadeva. Apart from the main stupa, there are other varieties of shrines and temples, some of which dated back to Licchavi period as well.

Namo Buddha

Namo Buddha is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site of Nepal. It is one of the three main stupas of the Kathmandu Valley. The other two stupas are Swyambhunath stupa and Boudhanath stupa. Namo Buddha stupa is situated about 40 km to the south-east of Kathmandu city. It is believed that the stupa was built over bones and hair of Prince Semchen Chenpo which stands on the slopes of the Gandhi Malla hill.
